SVI Rupture Disk (Bursting Disc) Assembly |
A new
one piece disposable rupture disk (bursting disc) assembly for isolating safety-relief
valves.
For retrofit with fixed piping.
Features
- Solid
reverse buckling S-90 Disk welded into a flange assembly.
- Petals open up along scored (pre-weakened) lines.
- Petals open up to give full flow.
- Available in sizes 1 1/2 " thru 6" including 2 1/2".
- Teflon* Boot available upon request for process side of
SVI.
- Designed specifically to isolate relief valves from the process
media and keep the process fluid from leaking to the atmosphere.
- The
SVI fits between ANSI flanges.
- A
pair of gaskets supplied with each SVI assembly
- Standard disk materials will be Nickel and Inconel. The body and
flange will be 316 Stainless Steel. Consult BS&B for other Disk
Materials.
Benefits
- No

Engineering
Information
Minimum
and maximum pressure ratings are applicable at 72° F.
SVI
Flanges are 316 stainless steel or Inconel.
Manufacturing Range:
- Inconel and nickel rupture disks (bursting discs) are available with 5% and 10%
manufacturing range.
- On
these 5% and 10% manufacturing ranges, the total range is placed on the
minus side of the requested pressure rating.
Example:
If a 200
psig SVI is ordered with a 10% manufacturing range, it may be tagged at
any pressure between 200 psig and 180 psig.
Burst
Tolerances:
Burst
tolerances are the maximum variation from the above tagged burst
pressure.
Disks tagged above 40 psig. Burst Tolerance ± 5%.
Disks
tagged 40 psig and below: ± 2 psi.
Recommended maximum temperatures for
each metal are:
Inconel: 900° F.
Nickel: 750° F.
